GeoIP / Maxmind
I kept getting told off for over using Maxmind DB. With to many requests to them and about 5 projects requesting IP address data we needed to do something.
Well One of the problems with internet problems is we keep downloading the Maxmind DB to many times. Let's stop the email and build a LXC container that handles it.
To add on to this mindless thing, I now got 1 LXC hosted on Proxmox that handles this. It will go off and get the data once a day at a random period early in the morning. From here I can abuse the API the LXC is providing. I can scale and descale it as needed. Plus also helps secure a few other little projects.
Well I have a API added on that goes off and lets other projects talk to this. We also grabbing some other DB from maxmind. To comply this is not a public connection it only accessible via stuff with in my network(s). I say network(s) as I got stuff in a few locations that link up.
